About Me
I am a creative, detail-oriented photographer
and graphic
designer turned UX designer and full-stack
engineer. I started
working in art and design from a very young age
and creative
problem-solving is my sweet spot. I draw from my
years of
experience in business consulting, digital
marketing, art, and
graphic design to merge business logic with
usability and
aesthetics.

Design matters. When it comes to business, first
impressions are
crucial, and good website design is the key to
building your
brand and establishing trust with your audience.
An excellent
web application is not judged solely on its
looks, but on its
functionality and usability. Great design should
feel simple and
intuitive to the user, but be created through
extensive
research, thoughtfulness, and logic.
I believe that UX design is crucial to just
about everything. It
renders the latest technology accessible to the
masses and
determines which brands and products we return
to over and over
again.
My Background & Philosophy
As a Portland native, I grew up drawing
inspiration from the
beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Whether it was
painting,
photography, mixed media, graphic design, or
music, I have
always been highly artistic and curious. I have
been blessed to
be gifted with a high IQ, a knack for
recognizing patterns,
conceptualizing things visually, and identifying
emerging trends
by analyzing how things move, connect and flow.
As engineers and designers, we simultaneously
know too much and
too little. We know too much about the
technology and too little
about how other people live their lives and do
their activities.
When starting a new project, I don't just rely
on guesswork or
my own presuppositions. I do extensive market
research to
identify my target users and then I engage in
contextual inquiry
to really understand the needs of those users.
When I am not designing or writing code, you can
find me behind a
camera, being a mom to my two precious daughters,
hiking, digging
in my garden, or cooking.

Lead front end developer for a
Google Cloud Partner using
React to build user interface for
web app to automate and
make containerization with Docker
and Google's Kubernetes
Engine accessible and intuitive for
all developers.
Led the technical planning & UX
research phases of the
project including contextual
inquiry, market research, and

app's API and coordinated with
Google engineers to make
practical design decisions and

(AJAX) requests, DOM manipulation,
and features of

Conceptualized and implemented a
Help Desk for engineering
students that was adopted by the

for over 1000 students.
